Small IT and Government Service Providers face challenges in completing CMMI Benchmarks required by their Prime Contractors and their Government customers. They struggle with how to effectively and efficiently meet the CMMI requirements for implementation evidence as well as performing the certification Benchmark.
ISD Solution
With one IT System Developer, ISD delivered process consulting support to create and deploy process assets that were tailored to the small organization size yet still fulfilled all the CMMI practice requirements. Using and “inside man, “outside man,” approach, ISD successfully managed potential conflicts of interest that could occur with the Lead Appraiser. With all these small organizations, ISD used its Appraisal Wizard tool to implement an incremental evidence database evolution technical approach to maximize data reuse and minimize the effort to complete their Benchmarks while meeting CMMI Method rules.
Outcome
ISD successfully led each organizational business unit to achieve their CMMI Benchmark level targets. ISD success in meeting organizational objectives has led to multiple engagements with these clients.
